In our group we have Ellie Paddy and Michael.

So far in Robotics we have a fun and great time and on the way we have learned lots.
When it all started we told how to construct the robot and where which bits of the robot went.
We were joined with the other group seven in the other class and we had to work together to construct the robot and give it all of the sensors. We had some great builders and luckily we had all played with Lego before so it was as easy as Pie. That took us an exciting 2 weeks (2, 1hour sessions).
After that we were told how to handle the robot and program the robot after we had finished making our master piece. We had time to spare as groups were still finishing building their robots so all six of us decided to have a practise run we the robot.
After a fun day of robotics we where then told that we would now only be in our own groups so the group from next door were no longer in our group.

Michael, week 7:
I was the handler for my group. At the start of the lesson I had to go and get the robot and plug it into the computer. For today’s challenge we had to start our robot at the line and make it finish just before the other line. Paddy and I went to the back of the library and set the setting. We tested how far it had to go and we adjusted the time and the speed. Every single run that we did towards the end of the lesson was spot on but when it was time for the test it stopped ages before the line. Paddy and I were a bit annoyed but that is life. So we packed up and went back to the class!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Ellie week 7
I was away this lesson but it sounded really fun !!! (:

Paddy, week 7:
I was the programmer this week and today we did the pedestrian challange. At first none of us new what the pedestrian challange was but then the teachers put out two lines of tape about one to three metres and we had to start at one end and get it to the without knocking down the pedestrian which was a little lego man. Michael and I estimated the length of the tape and tried it out. It was perfect, so we put our robort on one line and watched it go a long way from the line lucky that was only one try out of three attempts to get it right. We made the ajustments on the robot and then we ran out of time so we couldn't test it out. Finally after six other groups it was me and Michaels turn. Michael turned the robot on and programed it to do how far we wanted to go. our robot was going at 75% speed so it was travelling pretty fast bast then it suddenly stopped short of the line, I was so annoyed, I wish I could of had another go at it but it was the end lesson so we packed up and went back to class.

Michael Week 8:
This week I was the recorder for my group. For todays challenge we had to do a simialr task like we did last week. There was a square made out of tape on the carpet, and we had to place the pedestrians on one end and start the robot on the other end. We had to get as close to the pedestrian as we could without knocking him over. The we had to reverse and dance insiide the square without going outside. We completed the challenge and it was really fun.

Ellie Week 8
Today in Robotics i was the programmer. We had to program our robot to get as close to the pedestrian as we could without knocking him over and then dance inside the square without going outside. If you went outside the square you failed, but ours was a success. We made Mep ( our robot ) do some pretty cool moves, like spin its arm, and spin around in circles.
I had a great session!!!

Paddy, Week 8
Today I was the handeler. Our task this week was to do the pederstrian challange except in a square, but then we had to make our robot reverse into the middle and do a dance. Our robot stopped right before the line and then revered in a pretty awesome dance. I liked this session very much because our group did not fail and it was really fun and interesting challange.

Michael Week 9:
This week I was the programmer for our group. For to days challenge we had a worksheet with lots of things on it. We had to do the first challenge on the sheet which was the robot had to do a perfect 360 degree turn to get 5 points. Our group went straight to it and every time we had a good turn and we would try It again and it would not work. We were running out of time and we tried one last go and it was perfect. We then showed the teacher and we got a 5+. A success! It was a fun lesson and I enjoyed it very much!

Ellie week 9:
Today i was the handler for our group.

Paddy week 9
Today I was away.

Michael Week 10:
This week I was the handler for my group and for todays challenge we had to go on with the worksheet and try to get as much points as we could. The start of t he lesson started off the same with a little discussion from the teachers but then it was straight to work! After last week for getting a 5+ on our 360 degree turn we set out to get another perfect 5+. Today on the work sheet we had to get started on a dance move called the "snake". It did not start off so well as problems came on after another and we were endlessly trying to fix them! After a lot of looking at the robot very closely to see what was going wrong we finally got it all right (well to our opinion) and went to get it tested. We got a pretty good mark of 4.5 and as we had time we started on the dance move called the "shimmer". To our great and pure skill we managed to get it perfectly on t he first go we showed the teacher but as she was not marking them Mrs Cooper said it was very good. It was a great and very enjoyable lesson in which we managed to get a lot done!!!!!

Paddy Week 10:
This week I was the recorder and the programer because Ellie was away. Today we had to work on the sheet and our first task was making the robot move forward like a snake. Michael and I did very well in this test and got a perfect 5+ and we were really happy with the result. the second task on the sheet was a shimmy. The objective of a shimmy was to make the robot move side to side like the dance move. We went to get it tested but the teacher said we will get it marked next time. I had alot of fun this because we got a lot done and it was heeps of fun!!!

Michael Week 1:
This week I was the recorder for our group and for todays challenge we had to go on with our worksheet from last week. To start off todays lesson showed the teacher our shimmy from what we did last week and got a perfect 5 points! We started straight away on the 3 sensor movements but Paddy and I found out that it is a lot easier said then done as we struggled to get this mission accomplished. Well I guess no one can be perfect and know EVERYTHING!!!!!! It was then time to pack up and went back to class. This time it was still fun but now robotics are starting to prove a point!

Paddy Week 1:
This week I was the programer and today we got our shimmy marked and got a perfect 5. The third challange on the sheet was to use 3 sensor movements and we found this very frustrating. The only problem was getting the touch sensor going straight after the previous move. I'm really looking forward to next week because so we can figure out what we are going to do. This was an interesting lesson but very enjoyable!!!

Paddy Week 2:
This week I was the programer and todays challenge was to make the robot (M.E.P) use three sensors and also use arm movement in a short sequence. Our group chose to use the sound sensor, the touch sensor and the supersonic sensor! We got a perfect five out of five, our group was very happy with the result. Michael, Ellie and I moved onto the next challange straight away which was a figure eight! Were having a little bit of trouble working it out but I think we will get it next week. I really enjoyed this lesson because I learnt sooooo much and had heeps of fun!!!!!!!

Michael week 2:
This week I was the handler for our group. Todays challenge was to continue on with what we were doing last week. We had to make the robot use 3 sensor movements. To day was a fresh start and we were determind to get the result that we were serching for. We started off great getting 2 sensors and finaly getting 3. We went up to mark but the teachers said that we had to shorten it a bit to get a 5. We went back to the computer and successfuly got a perfect 5. Today was a great day and we did what we set out to do!!!!!

Ellie week 2:
This week i was recorder. We had to use three sensors on our robot in a short routine. At first it was a bit to long so the teacher told us we needed to shorten it a bit. Then we tried again and got a perfect 5. It was a great lesson and im really enjoying robotics.

Paddy week 3:
This week I was the recorder for our group. Today we attempted to do a perfect figure eight and found it very hard to perfect this task. At the start our group thought we had no hope at this challange but with determination of our group we managed to get a 4 1/2 which is next to best so I was very proud of what we accomplished. Today was a bit of a challange but I'm looking forward to next week because were finally going to get to make our robot dance!!!

Michael week 3:

This week I was the handler for our group and todays chanllege we had to make a impossible figure eight. Today we started to

scratch our head figuring out what to do. We started and had to kept on getting it wrong then having to fix it up again. When we

finally got what we thought got our perfect figur eight we showed it to the teacher. She said it was perfect although it had

one extra

turn. We tried to fix it up but with one minute to go it did not happen. So when we had to pack up we asked for the other

mark that

we got. It was a bit disappointing but a least we got a 4 1/2 marks!

Ellie week 3:

This week i was the programmer for our group. we had to make a figure eight which was extremely hard. When we showed

the teacher it had one extra turn in it. We went back and tried to perfect it but just made it worse, so we took our original

mark which was a 4 1/2. I think this lesson went pretty well considering how hard the task was. It was really fun and i cant

wait untill next week so we can start making our robot dance.

Paddy Week 4:
This week I was the programer and today we started working on our robot dance! Michael, Ellie and I got 31 seconds of our dance complete. I was happy with what we have done so far because the teacher said it was good and we liked it as well.

Ellie week 4:
This week I was handler and we started to create our robot dance. We are doing the dance to so lonely remix and are doing really well. This is the best part of robotics and defenately the most exciting bit. I cant wait untill we are finished creating the dance and get to dress the robots up. I cant wait for next weeks lesson.

Michael Week 4:
This Week I was the recorder for our group. For today we had to start doing our robot dance. Our dance was lonely remix and and we had great movements in mind. It started off alright although things not going to well but towards the end of the lesson we started to go GREAT! We got about 31 seconds worth of dance and we got to show our dance at the end of the lesson. I think t was really fun and I enjoyed it heaps!

Paddy week 5:
This week I was the handler and we worked on our dance. It was hard because our robot wasn't charged for most of the session but we still added a few moves. It was good having to use our imagenation, I had a lot of fun and looking forward to next week!

Michael Week 5:
This week I was the programmer for our group and todays challenge was to do our robot dance. We all wanted to start straight to it but unfortunately right when we were about to start our robot ran out of batteries. We were really frustrated because we wanted to get as much done as possible today. We let our robot get charged and we called David to help us with our song. We wanted to cut a bit out of it. When it was done we thanked David and put our earlier shimmy onto the program. We got to have one practice before the end of the lesson. It was a complete failure! I guess it is something to work on next lesson!

Michael Week 6:
This week I was the handler for our group and today we had to make our robot do the dance. It started off a lot better than last week as we finally got some quality working time. We got to get a few more moves done and we were making progress. Our robot was going good and we were co-operating well. When it got to presenting time we were ready but the song was not on the other computer so we could not show everbody. It was a fun lesson and it was definatly better then it was last week!!!!!

Paddy Week 6:
This week I was the recorder and today we worked on our dance. We made much better progress then last week since we got a lot more time with our robot. We added a few dance moves and also changed some to fit the music. Today was a fun day and I am looking forward next week!!!

Paddy Week 7:
This week I was the programer and today we got a lot of things done and our dance is starting to come together. Now we just have to add a few more moves and dress up our robot and then were done!!!
